Instructor Lisa Geiger LISA GEIGER (Mrs. G)

Lisa has been instructing students and adults behind the wheel and in the classroom since May of 2005 which she enjoys very much! Lisa is proud to be the Manager and with the team at Advantage. She is happily married, has 3 kids, 2 step-sons, and cherishes her  wonderful grandkids – 13 in all! She is also a lifelong resident of Manitowoc and enjoys volunteering her time with children and young adults in the community and at her church which is very rewarding for her. Lisa’s interests include spending time with her family,  photography, traveling, and hiking.
  Jim Kempf

Jim retired from the MPSD in 2010 after teaching science at Wilson Jr. High School for 40 years. Since his retirement, he and his wife have traveled extensively to such places as Cuba, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Mexico, and Panama. He has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. His hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading and working out. Jim will be instructing driver’s ed in the classroom part-time for Advantage.
 Instructor Dennis LeDuc DENNIS LE DUC

Dennis has joined the Advantage Driving School team and will be instructing students during their behind-the-wheel lessons. He has recently retired from the Manitowoc Police Department after 29 years of service.

 Instructor Larry Tollefson LARRY TOLLEFSON

Larry has lived in Manitowoc his entire life and enjoys the changing of the seasons here. Larry has one daughter  and 2 grandkids. Larry enjoys spending time with his family and friends, photography, reading, playing the keyboard, and especially enjoys teaching driver’s education. He has enjoyed teaching students the rules of the road since 2004. Larry’s motto is “safety is my #1 priority”. Larry also works part time transporting patients.
 Instructor Cheryl Van Abel CHERYL VAN ABEL

Cheryl has been a licensed instructor since 2008 and works with the students during their behind-the-wheel lessons. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children along with fishing and traveling.  She also has a Medical Assistant degree and works part-time at HFM.
Instructor Anne Juza Anne Juza

 Anne holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education, an Elementary Education Certification, and a Master’s Degree in Management. She has been married for 20+ years and has 2 daughters. She will be teaching and driving with students at Advantage. Her interests include working out at the YMCA, attending book club, and playing in a bell choir.

Larry will be teaching driver’s education in the classroom at Advantage. He recently retired from MPSD after a 40 year career as a mathematics teacher and was the most requested teacher at Wilson Junior High! Larry also enjoys camping with family and fishing. He has 3 adult children and 3 grandkids.
Instructor Michael Damian Michael Damian

Mike has joined the Advantage team and will be instructing students during their behind-the-wheel lessons. He retired from the Milwaukee Police Department after 27 years of service. He lives in Manitowoc with his wife and 3 daughters. He also has driving experience as a school bus driver and works part-time transporting patients. His interests include working out at the YMCA, running, and playing tennis.
 Instructor Jenny Rotter Jenny Rotter

Jenny joined Advantage in September of 2014. She moved to Manitowoc in 1998 from Milwaukee. She enjoys working with people of all age groups. She is happy to be at Advantage and considers teaching people how to drive a privilege.

Instructor Carl Waterstreet Carl Waterstreet

Carl has been involved in law enforcement for over 26 years. He has retired from the Door County Sheriff’s Dept. as a patrol supervisor. He has been a driver’s ed instructor since 2010 in Door and Kewaunee Counties. Carl and his wife have two adult sons who are also involved in law enforcement. He enjoys riding motorcycle, hunting, and fishing among other sports. He firmly believes that teaching students and adults driver’s ed is a stress reliever and he enjoys the work!

Instructor Brenda Curtis Brenda Curtis

Brenda has lived in Sturgeon Bay for 27 years. She has been married for 28 years and has a son and daughter.  She has worked in the non-profit world in Sturgeon Bay for many years as an office/financial manager. She has been teaching driver’s ed since 2009 and enjoys every minute of it! She also tries to have some fun in the class which she finds helps the learning process!

Terry Magno

Terry has been a driving instructor since March 2014 and has taught students both in the classroom and behind the wheel in Brown, Door, and Kewaunee counties. In January 2014 Terry recently retired from the Algoma Police Dept. after 37 years of service. He started as a patrolman and worked his way through the ranks and retired as Chief of Police. He looks forward to working with the students and sharing his experiences.

Bill Bush

Bill has been the primary driving instructor in the Algoma School area for the past 3 years but also taught in other cities. Prior to this he was a Tech Ed teacher for 11 years and principal for 25 years with the last 7 years being in Algoma then retiring in 2011. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University and a Masters degree in Educational Administration from UW-Whitewater. He is looking forward to continue teaching drivers ed in the Algoma area and sharing his experiences with students of all ages.

Scott Ryan

Scott joined the Advantage team in 2015 and will be instructing in the classroom and behind the wheel mostly in Kewaunee. He has over 5 years of experience as a driver’s ed instructor. Scott was a Milwaukee Police Officer for over 22 years before retiring with a Duty Disability and worked with the FBI for over 5 years. He is married and is very proud of his family. He enjoys working with young people, coached softball and soccer,  and coaches AAU girls basketball. He looks forward to helping all young drivers become the very best drivers they can be through his teaching, experiences, and positive attitude!

Mike Genrich

Mike has been married for 31 years to a wonderful woman. They have 6 grown children and 1 grandson. They currently live in Two Rivers and have been all their lives. Mike has worked in various sales positions in the area for many years. He also has 10 years of experience as a driver’s license examiner for the state of WI. He is looking forward to using his knowledge and skills to teach our students to be the best and safest drivers that they can possibly be.

Lori Hebel

Lori is a Manitowoc native and Roncalli alumni. She has spent most of her adult life working in various areas of technical theatre, church youth ministry/liturgy, and retail.  She also likes playing guitar, watercolor painting, discovering new music, and watching animated TV shows.

Instructor Russ Budzisz

Russ Budzisz

Russ resides in Manitowoc and has 30 years in the newspaper business with 25 of those in Manitowoc. He enjoys riding his bike with his wife and has 2 children and 3 grandkids. He is looking forward to working and helping students with their driving.
Instructor Janice Dill

Janice Dill

Janice retired in 2017 from the MPSD after teaching business and computer classes for 28 years. She has degrees from Northern Michigan University and Cardinal Stritch University. Originally from Marquette, MI, and a “Yooper” she is married and has a daughter in college. Janice enjoys working with students and looks forward to teaching behind the wheel instruction. Janice and her family have traveled extensively in Europe and she looks forward to more travels in retirement. She also plays the piano and organ and directs the choir at her church.
Peggy Rezek

Peggy Rezek

Peggy spends alot of time camping with her 3 daughters and her boyfriend. When she had her 2nd child, she quit working and enjoyed being a stay at home mom for the past 7 years. She enjoys traveling, 4-wheeling, and hanging out with her family and dog. She has taught religious education for 2 years and is a Girl Scout leader for fun. She also is a collector of anything with Mickey Mouse and it is her dream to get to Disney with her family!

Troy Christiansen

Troy purchased Advantage in July of 2019 and is the current owner. He served over 12 years as a Police Officer for  the City of Two Rivers. He also spent 5 years as the Police School Liaison Officer and was twice appointed as Crime Prevention Officer. He was also an evidence technician, bike patrol officer and Citizens Academy Instructor. After being asked by his father-in-law to join the Carron Net Co. in TR, he became the company’s CFO and Treasurer. Troy has a passion for helping young people succeed and was a leader of both Cub and Boy Scout groups for many years. He currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Woodland Dunes Nature Center and is practicing 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He met his wife after moving to the area and they have two grown sons. Troy looks forward to working with the staff at Advantage to provide driving skills and instruction to all the customers in the Lakeshore area.
